The Lotus Room brought a unique challenge of translating the atmosphere of the hair salon, into a visual language. The goal was to create merchandise and marketing materials that reflected their core values. After the consultation, I determined the key points to be community involvement, organic products, and an atmosphere of come-as-you-are.
I worked with the customer to chose a contemporary, minimal, and earthy art style that complemented the brand’s ethos.
I sketches and directed an illustrator, who then created the line art. I added an earthy palette and watercolor texture to bring depth to the illustrations.
The clothing line included two designs, one focused on the company values, and the other was a lifestyle shirt. The lifestyle shirt was inspired by the spa experience with the message “Exhale, Rinse, Repeat”, encouraging individuals to keep moving forward.
Overall, I am satisfied that the resulting project reflected the earthy and accepting atmosphere of The Lotus Room, which will be valuable in merchandising and marketing efforts.
